The Linden Cemetery Association is a non-profit, 501(c)13, unincorporated, voluntary association which oversees the Linden Cemetery.

The purpose of the association is to provide continuous care and upkeep of the Linden cemetery, to acquire additional land as needed, to sell lots, and to make an attractive burial place for the deceased of this community at a reasonable cost and in an orderly manner.

The cemetery is located just outside downtown Linden, the county seat of Cass County. One of many memorials in the cemetery explains that it was sponsored by the Linden Lions’ Club and erected by friends on the 100th anniversary of Linden in the memory of Edward Story and wife, Emily Jane, who contributed 50 acres of land to Cass County for the county seat on June 29, 1848.  See a photo of the memorial and other gravestones in the Find a Grave feature on this website. Most cemeteries in Cass County and throughout the state may be searched on the Find a Grave website. Additions to the list and photos of the headstones may be submitted to the Find a Grave Project.

We have recently researched published a written history of the cemetery and are working on an updated listing of graves .  Additional verified historical information such as newspaper articles from The Cass County Sun would be terrific for our historical records or personal family photos. You may email any document to lindentxcemeteryassoc@gmail.com

The Association relies on the financial support of lot owners, family members, heirs, and friends for the continuous care and upkeep of the Linden Cemetery.  The continuous care and upkeep of the cemetery includes regular mowing and edging, a regular program of fertilizing and treating the cemetery grounds as well as treating ants, moles, and other pests as needed. Other occasional needed items such as removal of trees from fencing and cleaning around the perimeter of the property are performed efficiently.
